DMZ vets may recall intel briefings about the quality of DPRK munitions (and its possibly underfed soldiers). Now that the munitions are getting a try out in combat the results are not so hot.
“The poor quality of North Korean ammunition used by Russia in Ukraine has been widely discussed. In December, the Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief of Staff said on Facebook that the shells were so shoddy that often they exploded in the barrels of Russian cannons and mortars.” reports RFA.
While the shells are duds, at least they’re inaccurate, say the sources. 🙂
To be fair, the reports indicate the armaments are from the ’70s and ’80s, so presumably the North is keeping its best munitions for itself.
